Nigerians have been expressing their discomfort over the vast level of insecurity in the country by security agents since 2020, but since the commencement of 2021, the level of terrorism, banditry and Fulani Herdsmen killings, kidnapping and rape has spiked enormously.
Quickly, some prominent agitators have risen in the major regions and the Southwest, Southeast and Southsouth seem to be at war with the Northern part of the country, especially the fulanis and all the agitators are now asking for the country to divide based on tribes.
The South Western states are clamouring for Oduduwa Nation and the South East is clamouring for Biafra nation. Because they feel the Fulani president is not willing to go against the wrongs of his kind.
Recently, the president in one of his presidential meetings with government stakeholders made a statement that seems to be steering the nation right into the rocks. Some have interpreted it as an incite to war, while others say it is a declaration of war on the agitators.
Seems the President is not willing to see reasons to why Nigerians are acting the way they are and instead of a sitdown to talk through the discomfort and differences, the president said “… we will teach them the language they understand”.
Agitators like Sunday Igboho and Are Ona Kakanfo from the Southwest and Nnamdi Kanu from the Southeast, who have opened borders, ordered a sit-at-home respectively without any directives from the Federal Government, seem ready for a war if the government wants one.
And at this point, they are saying they are not going back on their decision for Nigeria to divide and go back to the regional governments. And now, the president’s statement might just be enough reasons for a war to begin.
