Tinubu’s Presidential Bid Might Just Have Come Too Late

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s race for the 2023 presidential seat has been made known since 2018, even though he has been expected to run for office since 2015 after he founded the All Progressive Congress(APC) Party. But it seems odds are against him this time he has chosen to run for office making his chances low.

Although, Nigeria is in-between the devil and the deep blue sea politically based on choice, which tends to make Nigerians vote in the wrong candidates most of the time because of an unconscious limitation and concentration to two parties, APC and PDP.

As the situation stands now in Nigeria, there has been a brewing clash between the northerners and the south westerners. The youths and traditional leaders in the southwest are clamouring for ‘Oduduwa Republic’ And Tinubu being a south-western leader clamouring to be the president of the country Nigeria, is not a priority for the youth right now.

Even Tinubu’s youth leader Mc Oluomo in Lagos state is rumoured to be at loggerheads with him because Tinubu has refused to let him run as Lagos state’s governor in the next state gubernatorial election. Hence, he has no youth support in the southwest in general.

And since Tinubu has joined an alliance with the north since the inception of APC, where he is under scrutiny by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC in recent times, he is been beaten down by his allies in that regard.

And all these events have exposed Tinubu’s desperation as he canvases for peace in the southwest and some southwestern political leaders vying for him to be the right man in the office in 2023.

But seems the odds are against him now. The youths are angry which makes election-winning harder and the enemies camouflaging as allies do not give a definitive part for the southwestern leader either.
