The Cabals Are Not So Invincible.

From The Beginning

What I am about to say here is purely my view, but I think it is worth solving a little puzzle that includes, The Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami. The same man who reinstated the director of the pension task team, Abdulrasheed Maina without the order of the president, but of the Chief of Staff.

The important part of the event was, the president did not have the power to sack Maina, but has the power to sack his Minister for Justice, which he did not do, for reinstating an officer of the civil service back to the office after the president specifically sought his arrest.

But let us start from the beginning where it can all add up. The current AGF was the National Legal Adviser of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC )and was actively involved in the formation of The All Progressive Congress in 2013 and 2014, he contested for the governorship ticket of the All Progressive Congress in Kebbi state, but lost the primaries to the current Governor of Kebbi state, Atiku Bugudu and in 2015, Abubakar rose to the role of the Attorney General of the Federation till date.

The role of the Attorney General, is to legally advice the government in decision making, but the AGF has been mentioned in the sales of oil vessel, reinstatement of a director who was allegedly guilty of embezzling 2 billion naira, and absconded office when the anti-graft agency, EFCC came for him.

Involvement In Maikanti And Ibe Kachikwu’s Saga
His power fiasco started during the case of the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Late. Maikanti Baru and The Minister for Petroleum Resources in 2017, when the latter party wrote a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari over the insubordination of the GMD who awards contracts and give appointments without the knowledge of the board members appointed by the president himself.

In defense, the GMD revealed that he wrote a letter to the AGF who gave the go-ahead for the awarded contracts and the appointments. The AGF in turn said he was acting following the decision of his principal which is President Buhari.

Recently, he has been accused of corruption and allegedly amassing wealth to contest again for the Governorship seat in Kebbi State once this administration tenure is over according to the former Secretary to the Federal Government, Engineer David Babachir during a media interaction.

His Stand With Magu
He has been at loggerheads with the embattled former Chairman and recently Acting Chairman of the anti-graft agency, EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, which can be linked with the Pension board boss, Abdulrasheed Maina whom Magu wanted to detain for embezzling funds from the civil service agency.
The power proof began since then and the report gathered that during the recent saga with the EFCC boss, the AGF ordered the arrest of two witnesses who were to testify before a panel set up to interrogate Magu. And now, the AGF says he is ready to testify against the EFCC boss, seems seeing him out of the office is a goal.

Sale of Sea Vessel
The eye-opening event was when the Attorney General admitted to having approved Omoh Jay Nigeria Limited to dispose of the sea vessels laden with crude oil and diesel through an opening bid after a fraud allegation was laid against the said company.

The question remains; how did a country’s legal adviser to the government end up having the veto power to approve the sale of sea vessels? We need not look further for the hijackers of the current government. The first lady has publicly made it known that her husband’s government has been hijacked and many others have attested to this.

More to come of this puzzle because the current government which is to come to an end in 2023, now has a mission 2050 in play.
