PRESIDENT BUHARI: NOT A FRIEND, NOT A FOE

After a patient effort of listening to President Buhari on August 21st, 2017, it is right to reason that neither is he a good president or a bad one, he is that type of president that has come to spend time, but this is not a fault of his.

President Buhari does not love Nigerians. I stand to be corrected. The only good thing he had to say after 100 days away from home was to thank those who prayed for him, he still had to choose those he extended his gratitude to and afterwards said all manner of things that makes one to wonder the kind of bitterness in the heart of our president.

Be it a cabal manipulation or not, it’s the content of a man’s heart that makes him vulnerable to choices he makes. What made the difference in our country Nigeria while Buhari was away was because a man acting on his behalf showed the people of Nigeria love, making us feel there is a solution, hope from changes made in a short while, going into States and given streets to preach peace and give hope, that is all that is needed to be a good leader.

When a leader  cannot cautiously deduce that social media comments about him or his health only reveals the fear, doubt, anxiety and anger of the citizens but thinks we took it “too far” is not close to knowing the first thing about ruling Nigeria. The country does not need a leader who controls everything, we need a leader who is willing to let go and has an open heart. Former president Goodluck Jonathan went through a worse phase of social media downgrade and not for once did he say to us that we went too far, he signed the freedom of speech bill into law, he let it all go. Not saying he was the best president but he ruled with enough love.

Maybe if Nnamdi Kanu was a uniform man like our president in the past, just maybe he Namdi Kanu will be invited to Aso Villa or Daura for an all night talk to administer peace in the nation, but our dear president will do what it takes even if it means shedding blood to prove his point. Nnamdi Kanu has not harmed a soul over his course till this hour, why then is our president thinking to resolve the issue by blood shed? Everyone has a relevance, it takes wisdom to find that about the people you rule.

I want to welcome back the president if the home coming king does not plan to leave anytime soon and implore him to open his mind. His fight course is good, majorly to keep us safe, but we are getting the opposite of that lately. Maybe this time, Buhari will think more of making Nigerians his priority be it his friends or enemies and cleverly craft techniques of disarming those posing as threats to the government of the nation and not just him. Enough of him making his enemies the focus of the government.

God bless Nigeria.
