Now We Know Why GEJ Visits Aso Villa So Much

Numbers of ‘behind closed doors’ has taken place in the Aso Villa between President Muhammadu Buhari and his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan for a while now and speculations became clear after 600 Boko haram members were released recently after one of GEJ’s visit to the Aso Villa.

During GEJ’s administration, the NDDC was set up to grant amnesty to the Niger Delta Militants for development and growth, given they will stop vandalizing oil pipelines, International organization’s set ups in Niger Delta and kidnapping of their workers for ransoms.

It is worthy to note that there were no intended killings while this happened. But the same approach seems to be adopted for the Boko haram sect members who denounced allegiance fighting to the sect after over 30,000 killings and over 3 million displaced people since the attacks started in July 2009 by the sect.

The sect’s member surrendering to the government is termed as ‘repentance’ in place of Amnesty and Rehabilitation set up by the North East Development Commission (NEDC), just like NDDC.

Nigerians agitated against this on twitter and tagged it #arrestbuhari, implying that President Buhari himself is the leader of the sect for allowing over a total of 1,400 Boko haram members to be freed without any capital punishment for all the intended killings of Nigerians by the sect.

The question remains; Is an agreement to such a move the sacrifice GEJ made to have his name cleared from corruption? since he has remained untouched despite Buhari’s shake of his cabinet after GEJ’S tenure. Or it might just be a friendly advice by GEJ and a means of Justification for president Buhari.

The topic still looms the air wave because the prison should also be seen and perceived as a rehabilitation centre for them to rethink and redeem themselves instead of making them walk freely without repercussion for the deaths recorded against them.
