The school Registrar, Sade Adediran did not admit to the death of any student, but according to the school’s Rector, Taiwo Akande, claims Vincent did not die in the school health centre. “The allegations that when they get there (the health centre), they are not attended to is not true because I make use of the health centre. I go there many times unannounced and if there had been lapses, I would have been able to see them,” she said.
“He was attended to at the health centre; he was admitted because we have admission facilities. Towards evening, it was seen that his condition was deteriorating and immediately, he was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital accompanied by a nurse,” the rector said. The Rector further stated that the deceased was later forcibly discharged by someone who claimed to be his brother.

Although, the students had complained about the school management’s poor appraoch towards their well-being and has publicly agitated few years back by displaying placards and calling the attention of President Buhari to look into the school’s situations and this current event has surely amplified their voices.
The Student Union President, Dairo Samuel admits that the situation is totally out of his hands as well as other officials of the union. The management has set up a seven-man inquiry to look into the reasons behind the protest and record level of damages incurred, which means only one thing; Student school fees hike for the following school sessions. We hope the Federal Government looks into the case and rectify the problems identified concerning the school management conducts.
