The Kanye West gospel album is a pure contradiction to his previous albums. Though, he has often reflected his desire to sing about the spiritual simplicity and choruses in some of his verses. But a full album about Christianity is a shock to most of his fans across the globe.
The man Kanye has been controversial since his moment on the stage with Taylor Swift, which was a fight mainly against powers in the mainstream and his fight with Jay-Z who he accuses of being an hypocrite, by and by, he does not hide his feelings about his political stand, entertainment and the manipulation of the system that operates the world he lives in.
Now, scanning through the rise to fame of Kanye West, one can agree that just like anyone, the first desire is to be important and have a voice that can be heard. Once the first desire is met, man begins to discover the poor state of the soul and that is where knowledge comes in play and knowing fully well that knowledge births knowledge, we begin to find a way to make the soul as wealth as the physical things we see around us or even in our lives and boom!, the need for self-fulfillment comes in.
Kanye has achieved a lot in his career part and still achieving more. Exploring is part of life and no one should be judge for it. A lot of criticisms have come up against the newly released album, some call it sketchy, short and unplanned. But some of the tracks like ‘On God’, ‘God Is’ is nothing sketchy. Several messages are passed across in several lengths and besides this trend are not that farfetched from his previous albums as well. The content of those tracks says a lot about the battle he fought and how he came out strong because God saved him and he is ready to be for God and he called it his mission.
A new Kanye is born, let’s watch him grow on a new path he has found peace with. Sunday Service might be coming to your state next. *wink*
