The death of the young black American, George Floyd making waves on the internet and in America has sent heated commotion in various states between the police and protesters in New York and several other states. The President has proven irresponsible on the matter by making careless statements as usual and the matter is still unresolved.
The protest is ongoing but is it in the right direction? The reason why the 1% will keep controlling the 99% is that they keep evolving, growing and have a better time, not once is a strategy used in the past adopted for a present situation, but all that the remaining 99% has is history, tradition, and norms, whichever side of the coin they happen to fall under whether favoured or not, the 1% are miles ahead and that is why a protest in the 21st century is not a strategic move to change the course of power in any direction.
In the early hours of today, the group called ‘Anonymous’ threatened the government and exposed some secrets as well as hacked the police website. This is nothing short of a strategy that has proven effective in less than 24 hours over a protest that has been ongoing for days. STRATEGY is key!
Blacks in Africa know this approach better. For instance, in Nigeria, the rich segregate the poor yet the poor does not appeal to sympathy, they strategically position themselves in places where the rich will someday need their help to repay them in their coin, over time, both sides have come to an understanding to give respect to each other where it is concerned and gradually the poor climb the ladder to be rich or as important as the rich man.
A scenario common between a client and a mere receptionist, Local farmers and traders, politicians and Road Transport workers, artisans, and school teachers. Somehow to the bewilderment of the rich, everyone matters. The poor don’t live among the rich and don’t crave to, unless they are well enough to live up to that lifestyle.
Black Americans need to know that, a protest merely appeals to emotions and cannot undo the extent of what a white man thinks of them. A strategy is important right now, I must say, George Floyd is another death for the black Americans to get it right and a protest is not the way. If I must say, a protest is another way for the white man to kill more blacks with an excuse to do so.
A proposed strategy will be the blacks to own their truth that their fathers came in as slaves or they migrated to a land that should belong to everyone, but somehow they are not accepted. It is time for them to build their own world, right there in America, some blacks are well off in all sectors and if they are ready to genuinely love their brothers and stop making deals with the devil or better still, they can try to outsmart the devil. Just like Nipsey Hustle did, Sean Diddy Combs, Tip Harrison, Jay-Z, and those who have made it in the music industry can begin to give black man music more world recognition, take the tours out of America to other parts of the world and carry young stars along with you.
For movies, people like Tyler Perry with the mega new studio can get a platform just like Universal Studio, learn the metrics of business in the mainstream and hijack it from the white grip. Yes, a lot of sacrifices are needed but the blacks need to put their backs on the floor for the next generation to not have it this bad.
In Economics, blacks who are successful and have made a name for themselves in that fold needs to start thinking of empowering the blacks to own more businesses and investments instead of working for a white man or need a white man to survive daily. The blacks in politics too need to start doing the same.
As a matter of fact, if the blacks are serious enough, it is time for every black man in a prominent position to have a sit-down talk on how to build a black man’s world in America for a better life for their fellow black men bearing in mind that what goes around comes around.
Black Americans need to do a lot better than protesting or avenging deaths, the best way to revenge is to come out stronger and better and not to continuously show weakness and helplessness. George Floyd’s death should be in history as the last meaningless death of a black man because of a new strategy put in place by fellow black men.
