The tussle of power between the present and former governors of Rivers states, Siminalayi Fubara and Nyesome Wike is reported to have been Intensified recently.
A recent report states that 27 members of the State House of Assembly, who are Wike’s loyalists, defected to APC. shortly after the defection reports by news outlets, a video circulating shows the demolition process ongoing at the state House building annexe.
Further reports gathered that Fubara has embarked on the demolitions to halt the Impeachment move being made against him as the reason for House members’ defections.
The following morning Some unidentified political stakeholders were seen to have visited Wike in Abuja, as delegates from Rivers state.
Also, renowned militant, Asari Dokubo, has publicly condemned President Tinubu’s administration after the wake of these events.
The war between Fubara and Wike will not only create political distortion and unrest for the Tinubu-led administration, but also
undermines the authority of the rule of law and foreign relations where oil and gas is concerned. President Tinubu needs to therefore step into the situation before both Fubara and Wike creates a disaster that will become a party and national mess to handle.
