In the cry against injustice and unfair treatment of the masses, we are quick to forget how we sometimes create the phenomenon after our lives that now makes us yell for help.
#EndSARS is a yell on every social media platform now, directing the wickedness displayed by the force on the Nigerian citizens. If everything was equal, SARS in Nigeria should be exactly like a smaller division in the police force, something like SSS or MOPOL, but for some crooked reason, that arm of force was allowed evil.
What we fail to realize is, the evil was not wielded by the police force, SARS was actually a manipulation of power by the high and mighty in the society to punish or display power over an average citizen.
Over a dozen times, one Nigerian will choose to arrest a fellow citizen with SARS Operatives and not the normal Police force just because, the accuser does not want the accused bailed out for crimes he allegedly committed.
We as Nigerians have carried this on for so long and soon, the operatives realized the power they have been given and decided to also use it to their own advantage. This is power in play and we are all part of it. As a Nigerian who has nothing but money, got offended and wants to buy power with money will surely think of SARS to punish the offender.
Half of those campaigning against SARS today one way or the other, have either been punished by SARS, but secretly, their fight is not against SARS,but against those who are using their power to manipulate SARS to delve the blow of injustice.
We therefore do not need to shout #EndSARS when we know SARS can die a brutal death tomorrow if we use the operatives for just reasons and this can only be achieved if they abide with the regulations that bind all other armed forces in the country.
