The anti-graft agency traced an amount of N500m to the former governor’s account on Monday which is understood, to be part of the N23bn allegedly disbursed by the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, through the then Director of Finance of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation , Senator Nenadi Usman.
Idris Wada arrived the EFCC office around 12pm and was still in custody around 9 pm. No news of him leaving the building before the end of the day. The stories are incomplete at the moment, but it looks like the former Governor is not in for just questioning, probably detained till he can prove with concrete facts links and source of the money traced to his account.
The former Petroleum Minister herself is under fire recently over several allegations of looted funds and confiscation of properties in her name within and outside the country. The EFCC is not done with her case contrary to the thoughts of Nigerians and opposition parties.
