Each time one takes a moment to look critically into the Buhari-led administration, it is almost impossible for one to think it less of a revenge tactic. The administration has been biased, insensitive and unquestionable. Every decision made has been in the favour of the northerners and still is.
Recently, corruption oozes within the circle of President Buhari’s appointees, our president only barks at the accused, no bites and no scratch. Not longa ago, Ibe Kachikwu wrote a letter that gave the country a shake because allegations where made against NNPC Group Managing Director, Maikanti Baru for awarding a contract illegally worth $25 billion which is still under investigation. The Federal Government came to soft-pedal the issue by sending out Vice-President Osinbajo out to us to take the fall, stating that he awarded some contracts to pay up the nation’s debts while acting as the President during Buhari’s absence from the country for months.
As fresh as the allegation is, the Buhari-led government has awarded another contract for oil exploration in Nasarawa State even after, experts, engineers and geologist has warned the Federal Government not to go on the wastage campaign as the quantity of oil which could be located in the northern region may not amount to a commercial significance.
This same government was the one exposed by the World Bank President,Jim Kong Kim stating that President Buhari asked him to concentrate the World Bank’s Group assistant to the north, even if Oby Ezekwesili ran to President Buhari’s aid to savage the statement as inconsequential. the World Bank President did not revert his statement or intended message to clear the air on the meaning of his words.
Presently, Abdulrasheed Maina’s case shows that the northerners cannot be touched. Head of Civil Service,Winfred Oyo-Ita revealed and gave reports of how Maina was reinstated and the Attorney-General of the Federation who is also the Justice minister and happens to be a northerner,Abubakar Malami was seen to have committed treason against the government and he publicly claimed that he “…will not, However, say anything until he has spoken with his principals…” and who could the principals be? It is either the mythical cabals or the presidency who he is answerable to.
A shocking revelation surfaced online days ago showing how inhumane and inconsiderate Buhari has been towards other regions since he became the Nigerian president. A full list of his appointees showing that 81 of 100 appointees are all northerners and the remaining 19 positions where left for other geopolitical zones to scavenge.

It is far from over, nothing less than two years to face what is left of the hell we have voted on ourselves. What made Gen. Ibrahim Babangida outstanding till date is his ability to have brought all the geopolitical zones together on the table and that singular act has given edge to the north since then. Gen. Babangida gave the hope that northerners could rule the nation as well. But from all indications, he has been the only one among the few to create such an impression.
