Out of desperation and economic instability, Nigerians are reaching the limit of when their conscience should come into play. Three men were paraded as ritualists after being caught with human parts which they claim was exhumed from a Muslim Cemetery, Isale General Area of Ogbomoso.
The three suspects namely; Alfa Kareem, 37; Bello, 22, and Adebayo Yusuf admitted that they were in a haste to get rich and that led them to attempt the ritual act which orders them to get human parts, dry them and burn them. After burning them, and then, grind the parts into powder. After doing all that, they are to mix it with soap to take their bath with every morning and mix it with Pap every evening and that is when the spirits will come and give them the money.
Bello, said: “We went to Isale General at Ogbomoso to exhume the bodies at about 8p.m. On our way back, two inquisitive boys, who accosted us on the road, demanded to know where the offensive odour was from. “We tried to deceive them, but they were insistent. So we had to run. They caught Kareem before the Police arrested us at our homes.”
In the real sense of things, it is obviously easier to dig up a Muslim grave than a Christian grave because of the burial rites. But What is the offense of men who ripped dead people apart? It is understandable if they killed human beings for the ritual, but the dead is dead and was only put to use by those who felt the need to have them. Could the act be out of ignorance or nonpunishable?
