Blue Origin To Launch Tourists Into Space in 41 minutes

“Within the next 18 months we’re going to be launching humans into space,” Blue Origin CEO Bob Smith said during the National Space Council meeting Thursday, according to CNN. Smith added that the passengers would be “everyday citizens.”

Aerospace company, Blue Origin backed by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, , says its planning to take customers into space within the next 18 months—or by April 2019.

Earlier on, Blue Origin had said it planned to test flights in 2017 with pilots and engineers, and take customers on rides in 2018. The company later said that those test flights likely wouldn’t happen until next year.

“Within the next 18 months we’re going to be launching humans into space,” Blue Origin CEO Bob Smith said during the National Space Council meeting Thursday, according to CNN. Smith added that the passengers would be “everyday citizens.”

It’s still unclear how much the 11-minute ride is expected to cost. Though a similar trip on Virgin Galactic is priced at $250,000. SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk meanwhile plans to send two paying passengers to fly around the moon in late 2018.

Attention!

Bob Smith says passengers need to keep their bodily function in check because the first tourism capsule will not be shooting into space with either bathrooms or barf bags. It is seen as unnecessary because the whole trip including boarding and landing, is only about 41 minutes which cannot induce vomiting, which normally requires 3 hours before nausea sets into the body.

From all indication, it seems the fun of sight seeing is gradually fading from planet earth to space. I don’t think people are scared of going to heaven anymore. The seriousness of only scientists being permitted into space is being played down by this development, which allows for people to witness other planets first hand for the fun of i, knowledge gathering and who knows, more findings.
