At The Helm Of Celebrating Nigeria At 60

Hopefully, this 60th anniversary will not go down in history as the last anniversary we have together as a country. Because with the speculations and the protest we might wake up to this day might be a significant factor to continue in unity or stand divided.

The government is too comfortable at the cost of the shoulder of the masses it is resting on, and the masses are not to be trusted when their needs are not met.

Present-day activist, Omoyele Sowore will be matching out tomorrow protesting against the government on its birthday. That is salty! And the police has warned against the protest, but the young man says ‘Aluta Continua’ and the dangerous thing is that he is not new to the struggle; detained for months, charged to court by the government, freed and still bravely stirring the hardly peaceful water of the Nigerian government.

DSS takes the place of the police in the society and the police take the place of a post-guard and the EFCC is the new SARS and SARS is the new insurgence. Fulani-herdsmen are a handful for this article, Benue state tells the tale every day now.

In-between finding it hard to fuel our generator to watch our president speak, let us have a deeper thought on the idea of this anniversary being the last we might all celebrate together as one Nigeria.
