ASUU DECLARES “NO LECTURES” AFTER CALLING STRIKE

Despite previous occurrences of strike in the educational sector in the country, it is rare for such strike actions to last a whole year, but it did last year and was almost un-noticed due to the pandemic.

After the association got a deal with the government, the president of the association has made it known recently, that lecturers are scared to go to class and teach in a crowded space or classrooms.

What Is The Way Forward?

Virtual Learning? Should universities now adopt the virtual learning system as it was the go to for schools during the lock-down. If universities adopt this system, how realistic is it to achieve success on the part of the students and the lecturers?

This could mean getting of laptops for all the lecturers and internet connections which will be another demand for the government to attend to.

If Virtual learning therefore proves unrealistic, does it mean we are all on hold until the vaccine hits the shore of Nigeria?

And that is a question with various feelings, will that mean, everyone will be compelled to take the vaccine in order to get things done and if that is the method used, is the government doing that to enrich its pockets? Or dance to the tune of pressure from international allies and friends?

Maybe, we should address this latter part separately after all.
