The most controversial seating senator of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria Senator Dino Melaye, is set to be honoured with the ‘Senator Of The Year’ award gives a twisted feeling of whether it is well deserved as he made the news more than the senate president of the federation or a mockery of his role so far this year.
The senator’s face and name was everywhere following the leak of his contradicting University graduation year and the issued year of his National Youth Service Corps certification. The Dino trouble escalated into a feud between him and Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, the rally attack and allegations oozing from every nook and crane, which was either devised to tame the Kogi State born activist.
Senator Dino Melaye himself brought more drama as he resumes a certain house seating wearing a graduation gown to prove he is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University and to debunk the allegations publicly and dramatically. The action was condemned by some, while some gave the thumbs up as speculation of the President Buhari’s dictatorship personality was perceived during that time.
Perhaps, Senator Dino Melaye deserves that award for all he has been through this year or because of making the year politically lively for us, Either way, he deserves an award. Congratulations are in order as the award event is being scheduled for Sunday, 15th November, 2016 at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.
